Overview

As a member of the Condition Assessment Team, Field Inspection Services, you will be an active contributor to the engineering assessment and disposition of boiler components. This role requires leading and completing non‑destructive projects in the field to support engineering analysis of high‑energy and low‑temperature components. You will conduct and document field assessments, then close out with customers on field results.

Travel to customer sites will be required; ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as assigned is expected.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and calibrate NDT testing equipment.
  • Conduct NDT tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities using various inspection methods.
  • Establish proper examination techniques, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards, evaluate results, and organize and report test findings.
  • Perform specialized inspections and may instruct and supervise subcontractors.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the NDT staff.
  • Interface daily with the client about work priorities and provide daily progress reporting.
  • Actively participate in client programs, planning and strategy sessions.
  • Explain NDT techniques and results to non‑NDT personnel in a simple manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Diploma in a Technical Discipline from a trade, vocational, or military program AND 8years of related NDT experience in power generation, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED AND 10years of related NDT experience in power generation, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum 7–8years of experience demonstrating the ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be fluent in English.
Desired Qualifications
  • NDT Level

    II certification; UT, MT, PT certifications are a plus.
  • Phased array ultrasonic examination experience.
  • In‑depth knowledge and field experience with NDT discipline in customer‑site applications.
  • Ability to meet company certification standards for Level

    II in MT, PT, and UT.
  • Experience with automated and computerized NDT equipment.
  • Demonstrated work history supporting customers and producing final reports.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic skills training in fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Code‑shooting capabilities.
  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and mechanical aptitude.

Skills, experience, and qualifications are key to success in this role. This position also offers a competitive compensation package in the range of $78,800–$131,200 per year, with bonus eligibility and geographic differentials where applicable.
