Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Product Engineer – Equipment role in Biddeford, ME. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and improve production equipment and mechanical systems to support manufacturing operations and product performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to identify equipment needs and implement engineering solutions.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Support equipment installation, testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements focused on efficiency, safety, quality, and cost reduction.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment specifications, procurement, and technical support.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering best practices, and company policies throughout all project phases.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing efforts.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production and maintenance teams as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, or product engineering preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAD software and engineering documentation preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
