Our client is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to be a compassionate and vital member of their care team, working to restore and enhance the mobility, independence, and wellbeing of the patients. Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide personalized therapeutic interventions that address physical needs and contribute to the overall quality of life for the patients.

Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and other activities.
  • Provide hands-on techniques, such as massage and stretching, to help residents manage pain and improve function.
  • Observe and monitor residents' responses to treatment, document progress, and report any changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and mobility techniques to promote continued progress and safety after therapy sessions.
  • Assist patients in the safe and proper use of assistive devices, such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs.
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including nurses and occupational therapists, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to resident care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program and a valid, unrestricted license to practice in the state.
  • Previous experience in a senior living or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
