Front desk​/cashier for the restaurant

Good afternoon!

Greetings once again from the Driftwood Inn.

Goodness... I've had what can only be called an "overwhelming response" to my first ad from a couple of weeks ago. Thank you one and all!

I'm the same Mark that put the first ad out there, so I want to say how great it was to speak to all candidates and wish you all the greatest success. Keep us in mind for your future employment needs. The revolving door is always spinning in the hospitality business.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we are now seeking someone to seamlessly slide into our eclectic band of merry hospitality specialists. Primarily in the office doing standard front desk and cashier for the restaurant without those pesky "apps", and "software", or even a POS system for that matter! We have a very active phone though... No quickbooks, no Excel, cash and checks only.

This sounds pretty simple, but the tasks are somewhat unique in that we have many return guests with their own preferences that need to be considered. If I'm being honest, I count on our guests to provide me with their specific needs as I will always be the new guy.

So, we need someone with a little patience at first until you get used to our system, and a little personality never hurts. The schedule has been 12hr shifts, but we are working on a few options. If you like a long day, we can do that as well. Pay is based on experience and serving/housekeeping shifts are almost always available which pays tips.

We can start at a gentle pace and move into a full-time spot as your experience grows, and we lose our wonderful college girls to the real world... We work until halfway through October and start back in early May. Housing may be available for the right candidate.

We are a reasonable commute from Brunswick/Freeport area and nearest to Harpswell for a point of reference.

It's not your standard job as we all wear several hats, and it's not out of the question to be distracted by a guest for new set of towels etc... Rather than find "the girl", I just get them some new towels (metaphorically speaking). It amazes me at how many five-minute tasks end up taking half an hour!

If we have spoken before, or you have responded to my previous ad, feel free to rattle my cage a bit! I try to answer all replies personally, but things were backing up and I had to get back in the kitchen, so to speak.
