Once you join Maine Health as a new graduate RN, you'll automatically be enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program, ensuring a smooth transition into your professional role.
SummaryThe Student Nurse Extern (SNE) is enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program. The SNE provides the appropriate level of patient care in various settings, under the on-site delegation and supervision of a registered professional nurse.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Must be enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program. Reference is required from Nursing Chair/Dean or enrollment in an externship for senior practicum NUR course credit
Certifications:
Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant and be on the State of Maine Registry or equivalent (registered out-of-state). Must have proof of Basic Life Support.
Must complete first year of ADN or junior level course requirements of BSN in an accredited nursing program in good academic standing to be eligible to apply.
