Virtual Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center during crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles so our patients can live freely.

We are seeking a Virtual Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about addressing the current nationwide behavioral health crisis, while working on interdisciplinary treatment teams within an organization that is redefining the standard of comprehensive PHP/IOP care. You will play a pivotal role in a growing, mission‑driven environment that accommodates provider autonomy to create innovative and individualized treatments for each patient.

This role is entirely virtual with an anticipated schedule of four days per week from 10 am‑8 pm CST
.

• Perform initial psychiatric evaluation, determine diagnosis, and develop plan of care including medication prescription if indicated.
• Revise, prescribe, and implement therapeutic regimen using an interdisciplinary approach.
• Monitor patient progress and provide collaborative treatment and communication with the treatment team.
• Provide timely documentation of each encounter with a patient.
• Ensure patient/family education regarding clinical condition and relevant aspects of care.
• Work in collaboration with treatment team members to ensure quality of care and consideration of services.
• Maintain required level of continuing education and preferred development activities.
• Use interpersonal and communication skills that enable professional relations with patients, families, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team.

• Licensed or able to obtain a license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• ANCC National Board Certification in Psychiatry (PMHNP).
• Prescriptive authority and DEA license.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
• DNP or MSN from an accredited nursing program.
• CPR certified.
• Experience with patients in crisis.
• 2–5 years of prescribing experience.
• Experience across specialties including mood and anxiety, mental health and substance use, OCD, complex anxiety, and trauma.
