Role Overview

This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to RN candidates with greater than 1 year of experience. The Cardiac Medical/Surgical Unit at Maine Medical Center
- Biddeford is a 40 Bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) providing step-down level care for patients no longer needing full ICU level care focusing on post-cardiac procedure and cardiac patients.

Position Details
  • Short Term, Temporary position – one-time, 13-week assignment.
  • This position is not eligible for benefits.
  • Pay commensurate with that of a travel assignment.
  • Full-time (36 hours per week).

Incumbents are eligible to apply for regular employment with a Maine Health Entity following completion of assignment if position matching skill sets are available.

Eligibility
  • Must be separated from a Maine Health facility for greater than 12 months.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Summary

The Registered Nurse II
- Acute Care - MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice, caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • License/

    Certifications:

    Current applicable state license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED, and PACU nurses require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU nurses require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines.

    Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS.
  • Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse
    - Acute Care role.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting laboring women required.
