Registered Nurse II

The Cardiac Medical/Surgical Unit at Maine Medical Center – Biddeford is a 40 Bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) unit providing care of acute medical, cardiac, and telemetry patients, providing a dynamic and supportive environment for nurses at all stages of their careers. Team members care for a diverse patient population while building strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and cardiac monitoring skills.
As nurses grow and advance in their practice, opportunities for Intermediate Care (IMC) training are available, allowing them to expand their expertise and confidently care for higher-acuity patients when needed. Our collaborative team is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while fostering professional development and continuous learning.
This is a short term, temporary position - a one-time, 13-week assignment. This position is not eligible for benefits and pay is commensurate with that of a travel assignment. It is full time, 36 hours per week.
Incumbents are eligible to apply for regular employment with a Maine Health Entity following completion of assignment if a position matching skill sets is available. To be eligible for consideration, you must be separated from a Maine Health facility for greater than 12 months and have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
The Registered Nurse II
- Acute Care – MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. - License/
Certifications:
Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines.
Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS. - Experience:
One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role. - Additional Skills/Requirements
Required:
Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.

The pay range for this position is $75.00 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
