Job Overview
We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development at 321 Elm Street, Biddeford, Maine.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
- Help customers positively and address questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom or sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Process corporate directives, pull and hold / destroy, task compliance, key survey information, and other communications related to store activities.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits/receipts.
- Apply loss prevention practices and protect company assets, including store cash.
- Maintain store cleanliness: bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, trash, and general appearance.
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed and that associates adhere to company policies.
- Help supervise, train, and develop store associates; foster a positive, safe, respectful environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug‑store environment preferred.
- Able to lift up to 55lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required.
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required.
