As an UGE Foreman
, you’ll support telecom construction projects of varying lengths across the country. You take pride in doing the job right and leading your crew to deliver safe, high-quality work.
In addition, you will:
- Enforce safety policies (Mas Tec HSE, OSHA, TIA
10-48, NATE CTS, ANSI) and ensure compliance on all sites. - Travel nationwide up to 100% on rotating projects (PTO and paid holidays provided)
- Lead and mentor crews, providing guidance, training, and oversight of daily operations.
- Oversee quality control of work performed at each site.
- Manage pre-install telecom construction projects, handling larger and heavier fiber and coax cables.
- Maintain daily safety meetings and debriefs, paperwork, validate timesheets, and implement job instructions from leadership.
- Compile and upload site-specific closeout documentation to customer interfaces.
- Coordinate site activities and maintain strong relationships with customer representatives.
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and operational.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You:
- Safety-focused with a hands‑on approach and proven track record of quality work.
- Experienced in aerial and underground construction, with fiber and coax experience preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience in UGE and/or Aerial, including at least 1 year running your own crew.
- Skilled in construction, rigging, and general industry practices.
- Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, site plans, RFDS, construction drawings, and SOWs.
- Proficient in operating equipment such as bucket trucks, mini excavators, drop plows, and heavy equipment (directional drill a plus).
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work up to 12‑hour shifts; able to identify and distinguish colors.
- Valid CDL (A/B) required.
- OSHA 10 required (20/30 preferred) and excavator training a plus.
- Team‑oriented, willing to work on‑call on a rotating schedule, and flexible with long‑term projects.
- Travel Details:
- Monday through Friday travel expected.
- Per diem 5 days a week.
- 50+ hours per week. Overtime applies after 40 hours per week. Work is weather dependent.
- MOS Codes 12H, 3E251, 3E271, 4305 relate well to this position.
