Automation Technician – Build & Install Custom Robotics Systems Pay Rate: $26-$32/hr

8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday Assignment Length:
Temp-to-Hire We are hiring an Automation Technician for our client in Biddeford to help build, test, troubleshoot, and install custom automation and robotic systems. This position offers competitive pay, a clean air‑conditioned manufacturing environment, and is temp-to-hire, with excellent benefits available upon permanent hire. This is a hands‑on technical role for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, working with electrical and mechanical systems, and seeing projects through from assembly to customer installation.

Whether your background is in automotive repair, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, machine building, automation, or electro‑mechanical assembly, your skills may transfer directly into this exciting career opportunity. Travel to customer sites will be required after approximately two months of training.

Typical Daily Duties
  • Assemble, wire, and troubleshoot custom automation equipment and robotic systems
  • Perform startup, testing, diagnostics, debugging, and repairs on electro‑mechanical systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, job orders, and bills of materials
  • Work with sensors, PLC‑controlled equipment, motor drives, pneumatics, and vision systems
  • Test assemblies using measuring and diagnostic tools, including multimeters and precision instruments
  • Assist with machine installations, customer training, and field service support after training
What we’re looking for
  • Associate Degree in Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or similar field preferred
  • Experience in automotive repair, industrial maintenance, machine assembly, manufacturing, automation, robotics, or related technical trades
  • Ability to perform electrical wiring, crimping, cable assembly, and mechanical assembly work
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, electrical components, sensors, PLCs, motor drives, and pneumatic systems
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, calipers, and other measuring equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with a willingness to travel to customer locations after training
