Big Pine Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered K5 Elementary Teacher dedicated to fostering academic growth, curiosity, and a positive classroom environment. Teachers in Big Pine Academy work in a supportive, collaborative school culture with access to rich environmental and community-based learning opportunities unique to the small island school in the Florida Keys.
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in core elementary subjects
- Create a warm, engaging, and structured classroom environment
- Use differentiated instruction to support diverse learners
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and support staff
- Integrate hands‑on, real‑world learning experiences
Maintain accurate records and meet district expectations for communication and reporting.
- Eligibility for Florida Educator Certification in:
- Elementary Education (K6)
- Pre‑K/Primary (Age 3 Grade
3)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Ability to pass the required Florida Care Provider Background Screening.
- Salary Range: Starting $62,700, depending on verified teaching experience
- Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision options are available
- Paid Leave: 10 days annually for teachers starting in August
- 196,200 day instructional calendar (varies by assignment)
Standard school hours: 7:45 AM – 3:00 PM.
