Summary of Position

Searching for our next Student Assistants. Join the Career and Professional Success (CAPS) team to support clerical needs of the full time staff. Tasks may include customer service, data entry, event planning, purchasing, running errands, tabling for CAPS, and technology support. We want you to have fun and gain important career skills!

Position Requirements
  • Compassion and interest in working with students, faculty, staff, and employers
  • Some understanding of Ferris structures and resources
  • Attention to detail
  • Some technology proficiency with Microsoft products and Canva
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA
  • As an individual who is responsible for driving on behalf of the university, a driving record check will be run pursuant to university policies. The individual will be required to sign an authorization to run a criminal history background and driving record check.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Participate in regular staff meetings
  • Assist professional staff with clerical tasks which may include: scheduling meetings, returning phone calls, answering emails, taking meeting minutes, purchasing items, and proofreading documents.
  • Assist at events
  • Create advertising posters
  • Advertise CAPS events
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for innovative changes
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programming
    - Including but not limited to room reservations, catering reservations, advertising, supply purchases, cash handling, event set-up, staffing events, and finding and leading volunteers.
  • May include driving personal or university vehicle and handling money.
  • Other duties as assigned.
