Adjunct Instructors needed to teach courses in the Surveying Engineering program.

This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.

The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest.

Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The selected candidate for this position must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future.

The university will not assist with any F1 EAD's, OPT, H1B, etc.

Position Type:
Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required

Education:

Master's degree in a field or a closely related field

OR

Master's degree or higher level degree out-of-field with at least one bachelor's or associate's degree in the field

OR

Bachelor's degree in field Required

Work Experience:

The following combinations of education and relevant industry experience are directly related to the courses to be taught:

Master's degree in a field or a closely related field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to the courses to be taught

OR

Master's degree or higher level degree out-of-field with at least one bachelor's or associate's degree in the field and 7 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses to be taught

OR

Bachelor's degree in the field and 10 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught Required Licenses and

Certifications:

Professional Surveyors License (current or expired but not revoked). Physical Demands:

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach Surveying Engineering courses for the College of Engineering Technology.

Plan, deliver, and grade all course content and student work for assigned courses.

Meet established course outcomes.

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.

Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.

Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to, maintaining regularly posted office hours (scheduled at times convenient for students) and participating in traditional academic functions (e.g., reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).

Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment. Marginal Duties/Responsibilities:
