Summary: The OIE Student Services Assistant supports the Office of International Education by helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for international students. This role offers valuable experience in event planning, communication, customer service, and intercultural engagement.
Responsibilities- Assisting with planning and promoting OIE events
- Creating educational and informational social media content for OIE
- Providing front desk customer service by answering phones and assisting visitors
- Supporting the Immigration & Student Services Coordinator with various administrative and student service tasks
- Serving as Orientation Leader (as needed)
- Driving Ferris students to/from OIE events in university vehicle (as needed)
- Strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with and adapt to diverse populations
- Critical thinking and decision‑making ability
- Creative, innovative, and student‑centered approach
- Willingness to sign authorization for a criminal history background and driving record check; a driving record check is required per university policies for duties that involve operating a vehicle
