Advertised Salary:
Minimum of $1353 per credit hour, if advanced degree held in primary academic discipline, the minimum rate increases to $1,458 per credit hour. Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FNTFO/AFT Agreement

Summary of Position:
The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants to teach undergraduate courses in the Hospitality Management program face-to-face and/or mixed delivery. The College of Business is dedicated to providing a learning experience that instills in its students the knowledge, competencies, and skills for entry-level employment and career advancement in their chosen careers. To facilitate this, faculty are expected to be student-oriented and able to integrate current technology into the learning environment.

Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State's sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan by the first day of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026. The selected candidate for this position must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future.

The university will not assist with any F-1 EADs, OPT, H1B, etc.

Required

Education:

Master's degree with a combined experience of 4 years or more in any of the following: operations management, coaching, teaching and/or golf professional experience OR a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience directly related to the courses taught, including golf operations, coaching, teaching, and/or golf professional experience.

Work Experience:

Master's degree with a combined experience of 4 years or more in any of the following: operations management, coaching, teaching and/or golf professional experience OR a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience directly related to the courses taught, including golf operations, coaching, teaching, and/or golf professional experience.

Required Licenses and

Certifications:

Class A PGA member in good standing.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:
Experience teaching hospitality courses, specifically club management and/or operations-related courses.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in the Hospitality Management program face-to-face and/or on-line/mixed delivery. The College of Business is dedicated to providing a learning experience that instills in its students knowledge, competencies, and skills for entry-level and job advancement in their chosen careers. To facilitate this, faculty are expected to be student-oriented and able to integrate current technology into the learning environment.

Part-time teaching and related responsibilities; utilizing face-to-face, blended, and/or online modes of delivery; delivery on or off campus; assuring/improving learning through assessment; close consultation with program faculty, as well as training via the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to, regularly scheduled office hours (at times convenient for students) and participation in traditional academic functions (e.g., reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).
