The City is seeking a Benefits and Personnel Coordinator to help with the day-to-day operations of Human Resources. The application is available at the Community Development Office or online. Deadline for acceptance of any application form us noon on Monday, September 28, 2026.
Supervised By: Assistant City Manager
Under the supervision of the Assistant City Manager, contributes to the City’s risk management, loss control and human resources activities. Coordinates recruiting activities. Maintains personnel files and tracks employee accruals. Assists City staff with personnel policies and procedures and related inquiries and assists in maintaining employee and other personnel records. Performs responsible clerical and secretarial work in support of the City’s human resource activities.
Assists in recruiting activities. Contributes to and follows guidelines of a centralized purchasing policy and related responsibilities.

- Maintains the City’s personnel files. Sorts, copies, and files materials in predetermined order and obtains necessary information and materials from files as needed. Maintains a comprehensive computerized personnel database. Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports and research documents as directed.
- Prepares recruitment announcements and advertisements. Places advertisements in appropriate publications and posts position announcements in appropriate locations. Processes employment applications and assists with other employment and/or recruitment activities. Maintains associated databases, files and records.
- Ensures the completion of all necessary employment forms. Maintains and distributes personnel related forms including benefit enrollment and change forms, time-off forms, and others as required. Coordinates and records employee status changes.
- Assists in the administration of unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, COBRA, and personal injury/property damage claims. Processes benefit enrollments and changes.
- Assigns work, evaluates and trains departmental work-study employees as assigned.
- Maintains the City’s wage tables, rates and job descriptions. Assists with employee compensation changes.
- Assists staff in understanding the City’s personnel procedures and administrative policies. Implements and tracks employee accruals for vacation, sick and all other benefit time off.
- Prepares and processes correspondence, records, documents, reports, and information requests. Updates references and manuals. Types, files and performs data entry.
- Provides general clerical and administrative support as needed.
- Plans, researches, and organizes special and routine projects assigned, including City employee parties.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications

- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related field. Human resources certification is desirable.
