Big Rapids Family Birthing Center offers unique, family-centered maternity care. It has 11 private, cozy patient rooms providing a homelike setting. We are committed to providing professional excellence and the best possible experience. We are equipped to stabilize and care for babies who need specialized care, with advanced technology and a specially trained staff qualified to care for many infants with special needs.

Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrate competency through the critical thinking nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Uphold the standards of professional performance, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s in Nursing required within 5 years.
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
• CRT-Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification – 2 years required.
