Job SummaryLibrary Security Assistants work primarily during the evenings, with security coverage present Sunday through Thursday. A uniform shirt is provided and required during their shift. Library Security Assistants play a key role in fostering a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment within the FLITE building.
Responsibilities- Serve as a visible, uniformed presence to promote a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment within the FLITE building.
- Conduct regular patrols throughout the FLITE building, observing and reporting any concerning activity or conditions.
- Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards to safeguard the building, its occupants, and its resources.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, coordinating with external agencies, facilities staff, and other relevant personnel as needed.
- Maintain a detailed daily activity log and complete incident reports when necessary to document security-related events.
- Must be willing to wear a provided uniform while on duty.
- Strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Word.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to remain composed and courteous under pressure or during emergency situations, maintaining respect and professionalism at all times.
- Work hours will typically be during the evening hours, Sunday through Thursday.
