What You'll Do

As the Disability and Mental Health Supervisor
, you'll help ensure children and families receive the support and services they need to thrive. You'll provide leadership for disability and mental health services across Head Start and GSRP programs, while partnering with staff, families, and community providers to create positive outcomes for children.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee disability and mental health services and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Monitor service delivery, analyze data, and support continuous quality improvement.
  • Supervise and support Behavioral Intervention Coaches.
  • Partner with families, educators, mental health providers, and special education teams to coordinate services.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and program practices that support children and families.
  • Support staff training in social-emotional learning, child development, trauma-informed practices, MTSS, and Ages & Stages.
  • Promote collaboration across program teams and community partners.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.

Requirements

What We Will Love

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, Early Childhood Education or related field with additional training in psychology, social work, counseling or related field and five years’ experience in Human Services or Counseling work with children under six years of age and/or high-risk families;
  • Knowledge in Multi-Tiered System of Supports Framework, Ages and Stages, and Trauma Informed candidate preferred;
  • Experience in an early childhood/educational setting and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Employees in this position must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver license and have reliable transportation and vehicle insurance in compliance with the State of Michigan.

Summary

A Few Words From Legal:

The chosen applicant will be required to submit fingerprints for a State of Michigan Background Check to determine eligibility for employment. You must possess an acceptable form of identification prior to attending your fingerprinting appointment. Preferred  include:
Unexpired State issued driver's license; identification card with photo issued by a Federal or Michigan Government Agency. Failure to submit fingerprints will result in an ineligibility for hire within this program.
