The Regional Crisis Worker will be responsible for daytime crisis coverage for assigned counties from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., five days per week, with essential on‑call after‑hours coverage. They will serve as crisis backup as needed, provide crisis support services for clients in Service Package 0, and provide services to post‑SMHF discharged clients for up to 30 days as directed by the program manager.
The role requires completing paperwork and data entry timely, a QMHP credential, strong computer and writing skills, self‑directed performance, and the ability to work with mentally ill clients, families, and agencies. A valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required. The position is supervised by the Regional Program Manager.
- Performs in‑person crisis assessments to determine appropriate resolution of the presenting situation.
- Assists persons determined to need emergency crisis intervention to link with emergency clinic services, respite services, and psychiatric hospitals in accordance with WTCMHMR policy and community mental health standards.
- Assists persons screened as ineligible for clinic services to link with other service agencies for non‑psychiatric needs.
- Responds within 15 minutes to page and responds to mobile requests within 1 hour.
- Serves as the SAI for up to 30 days for persons discharged from an SMHF or a private psychiatric hospital who are unestablished clients.
- Completes TRR assessments, necessary after‑care paperwork, and treatment plans on clients discharged from an SMHF to assigned counties, entering such assessments in EHR, and providing case management, skills training, mental health information training, and psychosocial rehabilitation as recommended. Ensures clients discharged from the SMHF or a private psychiatric facility are seen at least twice per week for two weeks.
- Serves as SAI to all Service Package 0 clients.
- Responsible for admissions to hospitals or respite when needed.
- Responsible for referrals to support services.
- Provides services as indicated in the SP 0 service package.
- Ensures financial paperwork is completed as needed and schedules appointments with the Consumer Financial Specialist.
- Schedules client to see physician within 7 days if needed.
- Completes follow‑up assessment within 7 days.
- Ensures an SAI is assigned if continued services are needed.
- Assists case managers in delivering rehabilitation and skills training services to clients as assigned by the program manager.
- Assists CM's in delivery of services as authorized in client treatment plans.
- Provides a minimum of 75 authorized hours to clients on an average monthly basis; 76 hours exceeds, 75 hours meets, and
