Role:
Performs quality diagnostic laboratory testing on various specimens, demonstrating essential clinical competencies, preparing reagents, calibrating instruments, and analyzing tests in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include:- Performing and analyzing laboratory tests and procedures.
- Maintaining and standardizing laboratory instruments.
- Researching and developing new testing methods.
- Adhering to safety, hospital, and departmental policies.
- Utilizing computer systems for daily operations.
- Training and orienting new staff and students.
- Contributing to team efforts, quality improvement, and productivity.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED;
Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field. - Eligible for ASCP certification; preferred certifications include ASCP, AMT.
- Training in a NAACLS-accredited Medical Lab Science program or military medical lab training.
- Experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, or Urinalysis is preferred.
