Job Summary

Responsible for creating and running queries, analyzing data sets, and producing reports and graphics that support decision‑making across a Texas state psychiatric hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Generate routine and ad‑hoc reports for hospital management and external agencies.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot relational database systems used across the facility.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, department heads, and other stakeholders to clarify data needs and adjust existing or design new reports.
  • Analyze data to identify outliers, monitor for irregularities, and support audits of the electronic medical record.
  • Provide training and technical support to end‑users, ensuring accurate data entry and system usage.
  • Participate as required in disaster response, recovery, or continuity of operations activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, business analytics, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in data analysis, database software, and query/report creation.
  • Proficiency with relational database management systems and query languages.
  • Knowledge of statistical measures and their application to data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently under moderate supervision.
Additional Requirements
  • Passing fingerprint criminal background check, drug screen, and required registry checks.
  • Compliance with HHSC immunization policy and mandatory reporting for certain communicable diseases.
  • Minimum age requirements: 18 years for most positions; 21 for Waco and Terrell Center applicants.
