The Security Officer is responsible for protecting people, property, assets, and facilities through proactive security measures, observation, patrol activities, access control, incident response, and enforcement of site rules and policies. The Security Officer maintains a visible presence to deter criminal activity, safety violations, unauthorized access, and other disruptive behavior while promoting a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, customers, and contractors.
This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively during routine operations, emergencies, and security incidents.
Work ScheduleSchedule and hours will vary upon business needs. Eligible to turn into a full-time position upon availability.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license if operating company or client vehicles.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from the work site.
- Military, law enforcement, or security experience preferred, but not required.
- State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security-related software systems.
- As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical.
- Prior experience in private security, military service, law enforcement, corrections, emergency response, or other protective services environments.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Experience operating access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, or visitor management systems.
- Experience working in industrial, critical infrastructure, or remote-site environments
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and during emergencies.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.

- Perform all job duties in accordance with DUS and Client policies, post orders, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
- Assist with traffic control, parking enforcement, and vehicle movement activities as needed.
- Monitor facilities, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches.
- Protect company property and assets from theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized access.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal or disruptive behavior.
- Inspect buildings, doors, gates, fences, windows, and restricted areas to ensure they remain secure.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, incidents, alarms, safety concerns, and security-related events in accordance with established procedures and site requirements.
- Monitor and control access to facilities, buildings, and restricted areas as assigned.
- Verify credentials, badges, visitor passes, deliveries, and contractor access.
- Screen individuals, packages, vehicles, or equipment when required.
- Monitor entry and exit points and take appropriate action regarding unauthorized access attempts.
- Maintain visitor logs and access records
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, access control systems, and other security technology.
- Investigate alarm activations, security alerts, or suspicious conditions.
- Observe and report unusual activity, unsafe conditions, or policy violations.
- Document incidents involving security, safety, property damage, injuries, or rule violations
- Investigate incidents, complaints, safety concerns, and security violations within assigned authority.
