HVAC & General Maintenance Technician
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive HVAC & General Maintenance Technician to support our KFC restaurant operations. This role is critical in ensuring all equipment, facilities, and systems are operating safely and efficiently to provide an excellent experience for our guests and team members.
The ideal candidate will have experience in HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and general facility repairs, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining brand standards.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, kitchen equipment (fryers, ovens, refrigeration), and facility components.
Diagnose and repair issues related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Troubleshoot equipment failures quickly to minimize operational downtime.
Conduct repairs on lighting, electrical outlets, breakers, thermostats, and basic wiring.
Ensure proper operation of walk-in coolers/freezers and maintain required temperature standards.
Complete general facility maintenance including minor carpentry, painting, and plumbing repairs.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service logs.
Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and food safety regulations (including KFC standards and local codes).Partner with restaurant leadership (RGM/AC) to prioritize repairs and maintain operational readiness.
Support new equipment installations, vendor coordination, and preventative maintenance scheduling.
Qualifications & Skills Experience in HVAC maintenance and repair (EPA certification preferred).Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration systems.
Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills (high and low voltage).General knowledge of plumbing, mechanical systems, and facility maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, manuals, and technical instructions.
Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently across multiple locations (travel may be required).Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical team members.
Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements in a restaurant environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) or retail maintenance.
EPA Certification (Type I/II or Universal).Experience working with vendors and service providers.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and reporting systems.
