Job SummaryApprentice Linemen/Groundsman works with line crews in the power/utility industry supporting linemen who install and maintain electrical distribution and transmission lines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Set up job sites and safety zones
- Hand tools and materials to lineman
- Dig holes, set poles and anchor guy wires
- Operate equipment augers, trenchers, bucket trucks
- Once trained direct traffic in work zones
- Maintain and organize tools and trucks
- Basic understanding of electricity and safety
- Ability to follow strict safety protocols
- Team communication – working closely with a crew
- Class C or Class A Driver's License; CDL preferred
- Heavy lifting 50-100lbs
- Climbing
- Bending
- Working at heights
- Working outdoors in all weather (Texas heat included)
- Outdoor job sites such as utility right-of-way work, construction yards, or maintenance sites.
