Role Description The Residential Designer role at Kitchen & Floor Decor is a full-time, on-site position based in Billerica, MA. In this role, the designer will meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgets, and translate these requirements into functional and aesthetically pleasing design concepts for kitchens, flooring, and other residential spaces. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design plans, creating drawings and renderings, coordinating material and product selections, and working closely with project managers and installation teams to ensure designs are executed accurately.
The designer will also prepare proposals, maintain project documentation, and provide clear communication and updates to clients throughout the design process. Collaboration, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential to successfully delivering projects that reflect the client’s vision and the company’s quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Residential Design skills, with experience planning and detailing interior layouts for homes.
- Knowledge of Architecture and Architectural Design principles relevant to residential construction and remodeling.
- Experience designing Custom Homes or custom residential spaces tailored to individual client needs.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating accurate drawings, plans, and visual presentations.
- Relevant education in interior design, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to communicate design concepts clearly to clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities.
- Knowledge of residential building materials, finishes, and fixtures; familiarity with local building codes is beneficial.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and collaborative teamwork in a design or construction environment.
