Position: Board Cerified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Elementary School Inclusion Needs

Essential Functions

This position is accountable for consultation, observation, assessment, supervision, evaluations and behavior plan development to support teachers, related services, principals, and paraprofessionals. The BCBA is a clinician who educates, observes, assesses, and supervises the behavioral application and implementation of behaviorally based interventions within the educational environment. The BCBA must have a solid knowledge of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis including general behavioral assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis.

Job Duties
  • Administers, conducts, evaluates, and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures and functional assessment measures.
  • Conducts functional behavior assessments.
  • Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented so quantifiable data is collected at regular intervals for continuous evaluation of behavior plans and achievement of goals.
  • Provides routine consultation to school staff for interventions based on published research and designs.
  • Supervises the consistent application and implementation of behavioral interventions to ensure fidelity.
  • Models behavioral interventions and coaching strategies for teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals.
  • Designs and maintains behavior intervention plans.
  • Supervises in‑home ABA therapy.
  • Provides parent training as recommended during school hours.
  • Participates in team meetings and the eligibility process and IEP development.
  • Develops individualized goals and objectives for educational needs.
  • Participates, as needed, on the RtI teams at assigned schools at the Tier III level.
  • In extenuating cases, BCBA may be called in for consultation, modeling, and observation through agreement with the building principal and special education administration.
  • Communicates with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.
  • Follows federal and state regulations and district procedures for special education, meets timelines, and ensures a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
  • Supervises and directs paraprofessionals.
  • Performs duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Special Education.
Qualifications

Candidates must hold appropriate BCBA‑MA certification.

Other qualifications include:

  • Correlation to BCBA privileges (minimum 12 months of supervised experience).
  • Knowledge of ethical standards and behavior assessment methods.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff.
Job Requirements
  • BCBA MA certification.
  • Corri & Fingerprint clearance (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Salary based on Teacher contract salary schedule, available at  See collective bargaining agreements (BFT – 2025‑2028, page 43).
