E Ink is looking for a curious and highly motivated engineer to join our team to develop advanced driving methods for our next generation of large color e-Paper signage displays. In this role, you will contribute to product development by designing and executing electro-optical experiments, performing in-depth analysis of display systems, and optimizing color performance. As a key member of a lean and highly visible team, you will work on challenging exploratory projects that drive product improvements and enable new products in a culture of open review and critical discussion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop a deep understanding of E Ink color display technology through hands‑on work with cameras, controllers, optical test systems, and complete system setups used to drive and characterize electro‑optical display performance.
- Define performance metrics and design, execute, and analyze controlled experiments to investigate display phenomena and anomalies, identify root causes, and address fundamental technical challenges.
- Develop software tools and implement algorithms to improve waveform optimization, display performance, and process efficiency for large‑format color signage panels.
- Support improvements in color and optical performance as well as reliability.
- Support customer‑specific data collection, issue investigation, and solution development.
- Contribute to tuning process development for large panels and support next‑generation color display platforms.
- Document experimental methods, optimization approaches, results, and conclusions, and present findings clearly to technical stakeholders.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

- S. / PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Signal Processing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong hands‑on aptitude with a passion for laboratory‑based research, experimentation, troubleshooting, and optimization of real hardware systems.
- Demonstrated experience designing controlled experiments, performing detailed data analysis, and drawing sound technical conclusions.
- Programming experience required, with strong preference for proficiency in Python.
- Experience with deep learning methods and workflows.
- Experience developing software tools, data analysis workflows, optimization methods, or algorithms for practical engineering problems.
