Job Title:
Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time
About Us:
Based in the Greater Boston area, we are a specialized, agile discrete manufacturing company pioneering resilient PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) technologies. We design and build high-power, low-frequency eLoran equipment. Our products ensure commercial, maritime, and defense clients have access to accurate positioning and timing when satellite signals are degraded, jammed, or unavailable.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer to take ownership of our end-to-end production testing lifecycle. In this cross-functional role, you will be the gatekeeper of product quality on our manufacturing floor. You will translate engineering designs into scalable production test processes. You will build test fixtures, automate testing scripts, and troubleshoot hardware to ensure every eLoran transmitter, receiver, and monitoring unit meets strict performance standards before shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Test Execution: Lead the final verification and acceptance testing of eLoran hardware assemblies on the manufacturing floor.
- Test Fixture Development: Design and build custom manufacturing test fixtures, specialized cabling, and automated test benches.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automated production test scripts using Python, C&C++, or MATLAB to accelerate throughput and reduce human error.
- Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot failed production units down to the component or board level. Work closely with R&D to implement corrective actions.
- Environmental Stress Screening (ESS): Set up and execute thermal, vibration, and burn-in testing profiles to ensure ruggedized field reliability.
- Documentation & Compliance: Create clear production test procedures, pass/fail criteria, and maintain detailed build/test logs for quality tracking.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in product testing, quality assurance, or test engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Technical Domain:
- Strong hands-on experience using standard test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.
- Basic familiarity with RF (Radio Frequency) electronics, power supplies, or PNT systems.
- Strong experience working with and testing electro-mechanical products involving hardware and software.
- Programming Skills: Experience writing or modifying test scripts in Python, C/C++, MATLAB or similar tools for hardware automation.
- Manufacturing Tools: Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, ERP systems, and reading complex electrical schematics.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) architectures, GNSS, or long-range terrestrial radio navigation is a strong plus.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary based on experience
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and flexible work schedules
- Hands-on involvement with cutting-edge, mission-critical navigation technology
