Engineers, designers, and manufacturing professionals all over the world rely on Markforged metal and composite printers for tooling, fixtures, functional prototyping, and high-value end-use production and optimizing their manufacturing and supply chains. We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Internal Manufacturing Engineering team that is responsible for delivering polymer science, extrusion processes, data acquisition / analysis, and industry 4.0 standards and practices.
To thrive at Markforged, you must be able to work well in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers. The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for sustaining product quality, process design, production efficiency, supplier management, driving product cost reduction and product consistency.

- Serve the process engineering team as a technical expert for existing and new Markforged materials in the Billerica production facility
- Lead the design, and build out processes to validate material specifications, critical-to-quality (CTQ) functional requirements, and full system performance
- Provide direction and guidance on continuous improvement projects to increase throughput, improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance safety. Analyze and benchmark alternatives and conduct cost comparisons. Work with manufacturing and Materials Engineering to identify opportunities and provide recommendations
- Oversee extrusion line maintenance requirements and relay issues to the maintenance team to ensure work cell continuity
- Interface with development teams to help define measures appropriate to assure the quality and reliability of the materials.
- Work with MFG Quality team to define specifications and root cause of any issues of non-conformance.
- Review engineering change requests; discusses feasibility with product development committee; develops and oversees preparation and implementation of all material engineering change requests.
- Drive effective corrective and preventive actions in response to validation and field/customer failures.
