Technical Writer
An innovative technology and manufacturing company focused on advanced pharmaceutical and healthcare solutions is seeking a Technical Writer.
Hours/
Schedule:
10–20 hours per week
Job Type: Part-Time Contract
Rate: $60–$75/hour

The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for instruments and software platforms. This includes creating user manuals, instructional guides, workflows, and supporting documentation designed for scientific, technical, and operational users. The ideal candidate has experience translating complex technical concepts into concise and intuitive documentation, preferably within software, life sciences, medical device, or scientific environments
Responsibilities:- Create and maintain user documentation, user manuals, and software instruction guides
- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, scientists, and operational stakeholders to gather technical information
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand documentation for end users
- Develop step-by-step workflows, process documentation, FAQs, release notes, and training materials
- Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with software updates and product enhancements
- Organize and manage document version control and updates
- Assist with documentation formatting, editing, and quality review processes
- Recommend best practices for documentation structure and usability
Required:
- 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably supporting software or scientific products
- Experience creating software user guides, manuals, and instructional documentation
- Strong written communication and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to understand technical systems and communicate information clearly to non-technical users
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and documentation tools
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare technology, scientific software, or medical devices is highly preferred
Preferred:
- Experience documenting instructional manuals for instruments and/or scientific software platforms
- Familiarity with regulated or technical environments
- Experience with workflow diagrams, screenshots, and visual documentation tools
- Ability to work independently in a flexible, part-time consulting environment
