The IT Administrator is responsible for supporting daily IT operations by managing support ticket follow-up, maintaining accurate asset and inventory records, ensuring technology resources are assigned correctly, and keeping IT documentation current and organized. This role works closely with IT technicians to ensure requests are resolved efficiently and organizational technology assets are properly tracked throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Learn all functions of the JOH Helpdesk reporting systems
- Provides Level 1 software and hardware support for all JOH users and clients
- Review help desk tickets daily to ensure timely progress and resolution.
- Follow up with IT technicians on outstanding tickets and determine whether requests can be closed.
- Monitor ticket queues and identify overdue or stalled requests.
- Ensure ticket documentation is complete and accurate before closure.
- Assist in maintaining service level expectations and response times.
- Maintain accurate records of all company technology assets.
- Ensure laptops, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, cables, and other equipment are assigned to the appropriate employee.
- Track asset deployments, transfers, returns, and disposals.
- Audit asset records regularly to verify accuracy.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes by coordinating equipment assignment and recovery.
- Monitor inventory levels for IT equipment and accessories.
- Maintain an organized inventory of:
- Laptops
- Docking stations
- Monitors
- Keyboards
- Mice
- Cables and adapters
- Other IT peripherals
- Assist with ordering and restocking equipment as needed.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Create, maintain, and update IT documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Document standard operating procedures for common IT tasks.
- Maintain records related to asset management, software licensing, and IT processes.
- Ensure documentation remains current and easily accessible.
- Maintain data accuracy across IT systems and asset management platforms.
- Generate reports related to assets, inventory, and ticket activity.
- Assist with technology-related projects and process improvements.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding equipment requests and assignments.
- Experience supporting IT operations, help desk, or technology administration.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Experience with ticketing systems and asset management tools preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
