Role Description

Leads with a hands‑on approach in the planning, execution, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and site infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring operational reliability through proactive maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and oversight of construction and modification projects. Supports Rapiscan ASE’s mission, priorities, and values by delivering safe, efficient, and compliant facilities operations.

Responsibilities
  • Directly oversees and performs (when needed) maintenance of site facilities, equipment, and communication systems. Ensures preventive maintenance tasks are documented and completed by the Facilities team.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues on‑site, escalating or coordinating vendor support when necessary.
  • Develops and implements short, medium and long‑term facility preventive maintenance plans as well as corrective maintenance response.
  • Supports the planning and timely execution of facility CAPEX projects including submittal of required documentation for internal approval including obtaining necessary quotation(s) from vendors.
  • Acts as Project Manager for site construction and technical upgrade projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Supervises and evaluates contractors/vendors (e.g., janitorial, snow removal, mechanical/electrical services), with daily inspections to verify quality and adherence to standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of equipment performance, repairs, and inspections to support compliance and audit readiness.
  • Develops and manages maintenance budgets including setting up vendors in ERP systems, issuing requisitions and purchase orders, approving payments/invoices, maintaining documentation, and meeting/staying within forecasted budgets.
  • Supports organizational space needs reviews on an ongoing basis keeping an eye on potential opportunities for additional space near the site.
  • Write, review and update maintenance procedures.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in facilities management, mechanical/electrical systems, or related field preferred (high school diploma required).
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in facilities or construction including performing site maintenance, supporting capital projects, and supervising outside vendors.
  • Solid mechanical & electrical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment; willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local building codes.
  • Experience in performance and documentation of equipment maintenance.
  • Experience needed specifically is the ability to demonstrate good technical and supervisory skills, prioritize work and perform autonomously. Must be able to rely on experience & judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to complete projects/tasks with minimal impact to production operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Ability to manage relationships internally, especially with the Operations team.
Other Work requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications/licenses to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs/fork trucks) and Hoists (Overhead cranes).
  • Ability to obtain & maintain PIT train‑the‑trainer certification with responsibility to then train & certify relevant operations staff to operate multiple styles of PITs.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and certify operations staff in safe equipment use.
