Test Technician The Test Technician is responsible for building, maintaining, and operating test stands to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of industrial refrigerated chillers and Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs). This role supports manufacturing and engineering by executing test plans, collecting accurate data, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining asafe, organized laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities Test Stand Build & Maintenance Assemble, plumb, wire, and commission test stands for liquid-to-air and liquid-to-liquid chiller systems and CDUs Install and configure pumps, heat exchangers, valves, sensors, instrumentation,controls, and data acquisition systems Modify and improve test fixtures as needed to support new products or testrequirements Maintain test equipment, calibration status, and spare parts inventory
Product Testing & Validation Execute functional, performance, endurance, and safety tests according to testplans and procedures Operate refrigeration systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators,expansion devices, and control systems Monitor and record temperatures, pressures, flow rates, power consumption, andother critical parameters Identify, troubleshoot, and document test failures or anomalies; collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on root cause and corrective actions Ensure tests are conducted safely and in compliance with internal procedure sand applicable standards
Documentation & Reporting Accurately document test setups, procedures, results, and observations Maintain test logs, data files, and reports in designated systems Provide clear feedback to engineering and manufacturing regarding testoutcomes and product performance
Lab Upkeep, Tools & Safety Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient test laboratory Manage tools, test equipment, and consumables; ensure proper storage and availability Follow and enforce lab safety practices including lockout/tagout, electrical safety,pressure systems, refrigerant handling, and PPE requirements Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement oflab safety procedures
Qualifications
Required 2+ years of experience as a test technician, manufacturing technician, or similar role in an industrial or laboratory environment Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, plumbing, and basic electrical wiring Familiarity with any of the following, refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment,pumps, heat exchangers, and fluid systems Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and test procedures Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience testing industrial chillers, CDUs, or similar thermal managementequipment Knowledge of instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, pressuretransducers, flow meters, and power meters
Experience with data acquisition systems and basic controls (PLC or HMIexposure a plus) EPA refrigerant handling certification or willingness to obtain

Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with hand and power tools Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods Work performed in a manufacturing and laboratory environment with exposure tonoise, pressurized systems, and electrical equipment
Additional Information This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, performance, and safetyprior to release to customers. The Test Technician is expected to take ownership of thelab environment and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and product reliability.
