Assembly Technician II - Systems

Location:

Billerica, Massachusetts. The role assists manufacturing in meeting continuous improvement goals such as product cost reduction, quality improvement, cycle‑time reduction, and process validation. The technician works with Manufacturing/Process engineers to set up, rework, and perform quality testing on parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies.

• 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (10 hr)
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (10 hr)

• Understand and communicate work instructions, updates, and issues in English.
• Assemble and package products.
• Fill out paperwork related to assemblies and production activity.
• Communicate discrepancies or potential issues as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Operate measuring devices, process prints, and quality control documents; interpret specifications and requirements.
• Operate mechanical, electrical, and optical tools and equipment for quality inspection.
• Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process; work with engineers in conducting experiments.
• Ensure high‑quality standards in assembly production for medical product assemblies.
• Use programs to collect and evaluate operating data to perform online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
• Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems, equipment, or manufacturing processes; basic troubleshooting; assist in design, construction, testing, and checkout of test equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of activities.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5+ years of experience in a related field.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills.
• Microscope experience.
• Ability to follow GMPs using SOPs.
• Maintain records and cleanroom environment to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Use various measurement devices to record data and produce assemblies to written specifications.
• Manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, visual acuity.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Perform repetitive work while paying attention to detail.
• Maintain product traceability and identification.
• Identify and segregate non‑conforming product.
• Ability to train other/new associates.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
• Ability to work closely with other people.
• Soldering skills – basic soldering jobs.
• Detail oriented.
• Hardware knowledge – DVM, temperature meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply.
• Electronic knowledge – basic understanding of electricity.
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office products.
• Previous experience in a controlled environment area.
• Demonstrated ability to train other/new operators.

• Salary Range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
