A manufacturer in Billerica, MA is seeking a skilled, hands‑on Assembly Technician to build and finish precision mechanical assemblies. If you take pride in mechanical work and thrive with tools in hand, this is your team.
Schedule of the Assembly Technician1st shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with some Saturdays as needed.
Pay Rate of the Assembly Technician$30.00 – $35.00 per hour.
Responsibilities of the Assembly Technician- Perform basic mechanical problem‑solving and repairs independently.
- Precisely measure, cut, set, and align components to tolerances and specifications.
- Use hand tools, air tools, drills, taps, and torque wrenches proficiently.
- Read and interpret fabrication and assembly drawings, basic electrical schematics, and written procedures.
- Run electrical wire, make electrical connections, and terminate as required.
- Prepare finished assemblies for shipment.
- Keep detailed reports for QA records and production tracking.
- Maintain and use company‑provided tools in a safe, proper manner.
- Complete accurate, timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
- Communicate with team members and support short‑ and long‑range planning aligned with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Work overtime on an as‑needed basis and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Hands‑on experience in HVAC, automotive, or power generation fields (preferred).
- Good mechanical aptitude with a proven hands‑on approach.
- Working knowledge of fasteners, thread sizes, and hardware applications.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and take verbal direction.
- Ability to read and understand the English language.
- Experience working with bridge cranes, jib cranes, fork trucks, and hoists (a plus).
- Flexibility to work first shift, some Saturdays, and overtime as demanded by the job.
- Team‑first mindset with strong attention to detail and positive employee relations.
