Intermediate/Advanced Materials Coordinator needed for a 12-month contract to hire opportunity with Yoh’s client located in Billerica, Massachusetts. Pay Rate $23 to $28 per hour depending on experience.

What You Will Be Doing:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize daily activities within the Stockroom and Materials department to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Provide support at the Westford offsite warehouse as needed, including order picking and general materials coverage.
  • Investigate order picking issues, inventory discrepancies, cycle count variances, and nonconforming material. Perform cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and maintain inventory integrity.
  • Locate, audit, transfer, and stage kits or materials to support production and shipping requirements.
  • Receive incoming materials, complete inventory transactions, and update inventory records, shortage reports, and related documentation using Made2

    Manage (M2M) or other inventory systems.
  • Monitor and maintain shortage reports to help ensure material availability for production.
  • Coordinate the processing and disposition of nonconforming material in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work with management to minimize excess inventory by relocating, consolidating, or disposing of material as directed.
  • Organize, consolidate, and maintain stockroom locations to maximize storage capacity, improve inventory accuracy, and support efficient material flow.
  • Assist with expediting material deliveries from suppliers when requested by management.
  • Train and certify Material Coordinators on departmental processes, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Follow established business processes and maintain accurate documentation for inventory and material transactions.
  • Support inventory control initiatives by identifying excess or obsolete material and assisting with rework, transfer, or scrap activities as directed.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, after certification.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Provide cross functional coverage for Inventory Control, Receiving, the Stockroom, and Production Control during planned or unplanned absences.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
  • This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Regular physical activity includes bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting materials, and working in confined spaces.
  • The role also requires the ability to distinguish between colors, work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels, use hand and power tools, and safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.
  • Some work may be performed in a clean room environment. When required, employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include coveralls, hoods, boot covers, gloves, safety glasses, respirators, chemical aprons, face shields, and other required protective equipment.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in stockroom operations, inventory control, material handling, and established departmental procedures.
  • Applies standard processes and sound judgment to complete assigned responsibilities accurately and efficiently.
  • Understands how the Materials department supports Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving, and other operational functions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and has basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Provides day to day guidance and support to less experienced team members.
  • Assists with training, onboarding, and certification of Material Coordinators while promoting consistent work practices.
  • Investigates inventory and material related issues, identifies root causes, and resolves routine and moderately complex problems by applying established procedures and sound judgment.
