JOB TITLE:
Associate Scientist
Seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Associate Scientist to join our Discovery team. This role is pivotal in advancing our pipeline of therapeutic candidates for autoimmune and neurological diseases. The Associate Scientist will execute high‑impact in vivo pharmacological studies, focusing on PK/PD and efficacy evaluations within both established and novel disease models. The ideal candidate is a proactive researcher who thrives in a fast‑paced laboratory environment, operates with high autonomy, and collaborates effectively with the broader scientific team.
Key Responsibilities- Independently conduct in vivo experiments following established protocols to validate drug candidate efficacy.
- Perform health monitoring and clinical scoring of research animals, applying humane endpoints.
- Partner with supervisors and colleagues to design and optimize disease models and novel assays.
- Administer test molecules via multiple routes (PO, IP, SC, IV) and lead tissue collection efforts.
- Collect, process, and analyze biological samples (serum, plasma, tissue homogenates).
- Utilize statistical software (e.g., Graph Pad Prism) to analyze data and present findings.
- Maintain rigorous Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) and contribute to study protocol design and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with IACUC standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with scientists and cross‑functional teams to support therapeutic development.
- BSc or MSc in Immunology, Neuroscience, or related biological discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands‑on in vivo research experience.
- Familiarity with autoimmune (e.g., EAE, lupus, DTH) or neurological disease models.
- Strong understanding of the 3
Rs principles and humane endpoint management. - Expertise in dosing (PO, IV) and necropsy (rodent anatomy, lymphoid/CNS tissue harvesting).
- Proficiency in in vitro and ex vivo assays (ELISA, Western blot, Flow Cytometry).
- Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods (T‑tests, ANOVA) to interpret results.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with multi-color immunophenotyping via Flow Cytometry.
- Prior work in drug discovery or translational pharmacology.
- Experience with autoimmune or neuroinflammation models in preclinical settings.
