Job Overview

Shortage Control Associate (SCA) to monitor store entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas, mitigating theft and ensuring a safe shopping experience. Engage customers and associates confidently, maintaining command presence, and report incidents to Manager on Duty.

• Maintain a professional appearance, wearing dress standards, radio, and earpiece.
• Stand at front of store, remain vigilant & aware of surroundings.
• Greet every customer with a warm smile and friendly greeting.
• Create secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.
• Monitor entrance for entire shift to reduce shoplifting and dishonest activities.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to Manager on Duty.
• Support and guide staff in shortage reduction programs.
• Conduct bag and package checks on associates, ensuring adherence to safety and security standards.
• Provide training to associates on shortage programs and processes.
• Role‑model safety priorities and address unsafe practices promptly.
• Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies.

• Preferred 1+ years experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor store environment.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Positive demeanor, strong posture, energetic greeting.
• Work in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with detail‑focused decision making.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
