Logistics Specialist - Contract to Hire

Pay Rate of the Logistics Specialist:$30.00 – $35.00 per hour
Schedule of the Logistics Specialist:Onsite, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Responsibilities of the Logistics Specialist:- Coordinate and execute international shipments, maintaining visibility of shipment status, on-time delivery, and transit exceptions.
- Assist in the coordination, tracking, and execution of domestic US small parcel shipments as needed.
- Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, IATA Dangerous Goods Declarations, shipping labels, and other import/export paperwork.
- Monitor shipments in transit, investigate delays proactively, coordinate corrective actions with carriers and logistics partners, and update internal stakeholders.
- Maintain chain of custody documentation for international shipments in accordance with cGMP requirements.
- Support warehouse operations by ensuring shipments comply with DOT, IATA, FDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. import/export regulations, foreign customs requirements, company policies, and transportation regulations.
- Coordinate with parcel carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics providers to move shipments and clear customs efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in international logistics, transportation, or import/export operations.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using parcel shipping systems such as Fed Ex Ship Manager, UPS World Ship, and/or DHL Easy Ship.
- Experience preparing and filing Electronic Export Information (EEI) through the Automated Export System (AES).
- Working knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations, international customs requirements, and domestic and international transportation compliance.
- Experience coordinating cold chain shipments, including temperature-controlled packaging, dry ice shipments, and shipment monitoring.
- Proficiency with international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, export documentation, and Dangerous Goods documentation.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including basic formulas and Pivot Tables.
- Working knowledge of Incoterms and their impact on ownership transfer, transportation responsibilities, duties, taxes, and customs clearance.
- Experience with ERP systems and transportation or warehouse management systems.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, international shipping processes, and customs clearance procedures.
