BOOKKEEPER

Northern Plains seeks a part-time bookkeeper who will perform a variety of recording, reconciliation and reporting tasks, including reviewing and recording income and expense transactions, reconciliation and reporting as well as providing critical support to organizational budgeting, audit, and compliance processes.

The ideal candidate is well versed in accounting principles and practice, detail oriented, and able to balance competing demands for their time. They are able to communicate complex information effectively to a broad range of audiences. They are comfortable navigating a variety of software and lean in to learning new software, systems, and processes.

The Bookkeeper reports to the Director of Finance and Administration.

This position is based in Billings, Montana and comes with some flexibility in working arrangements.

• Lead the daily review and recording of financial transactions;
• Lead financial reporting and coordination for our affiliate organizations;
• Provide timely and accurate information to team members as-needed;
• Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reports;
• Assist with organizational budgeting and forecasting processes;
• Analyze and disseminate financial information to staff, board, and members;
• Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting;
• Uphold our member-led model of grassroots and democratic decision-making.

• You have experience with accounting principles and practices;

• You are comfortable with a broad range of software and office equipment;
