  • Reporting to the Director of Operations Accounting, this role leads the refinery accounting team, partners closely with operations and corporate finance, and serves as the primary point of accountability for accounting policy application, audits, and financial integrity at the site.
Key Activities Include
  • Own full accountability for refinery financial statements, close integrity, and compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary finance leader for the Montana Refinery & Logistics site, partnering with refinery & logistics leadership and corporate finance
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies; make final determinations on complex or high-risk accounting matters
  • Own relationships with internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies as related to refinery and logistics accounting
  • Lead day-to-day refinery accounting operations including general ledger, inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, and operational accounting
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly close, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and SOX-compliant processes
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues; ensure timely escalation and resolution of risks
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Set priorities, manage workload, and ensure adequate coverage during close and peak operational periods
  • Drive accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement across the accounting organization
  • Provide performance management, coaching, and development planning for team members
  • Evaluate, improve, and standardize accounting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control effectiveness
  • Partner with Operations, Logistics, Procurement, Maintenance, and IT to support accurate accounting and operational decision-making
  • Support system enhancements and process changes, including ERP initiatives
  • Contribute to enterprise initiatives aimed at standardization, integration, and best practices across Par Pacific
