Nationwide - Field Construction Manager Assistant

This position is an entry‑level role for individuals seeking to learn critical skills related to the construction of electrical substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy (solar and wind) collection systems. They will also acquire a strong understanding of the requirements associated with daily reporting, quality assurance/quality control, environmental compliance, and safety compliance. The FCMA may be asked to stand in for the FCM if needed.

Strong computer and organizational skills are essential for a FCMA. Upon mastery of skills and assignments, the FCMA is expected to progress to a Field Construction Manager (FCM) position.

The FCMA is an important support role in the organization. The FCMA provides critical support to the Field Construction Manager who is directly responsible for the actual construction of complex projects. Responsibilities include assisting the FCM with administrative duties, secondary supervision of subcontractor activities, material receiving and accurate inventory management, safety support, quality control/quality assurance support, daily on‑site reporting, and environmental compliance inspections.

The FCMA reports directly to the on‑site Field Construction Manager for all project‑specific issues and to the Field Construction Manager Superintendent for assignment, general installation practices, and inspection processes. FCMA positions are not assigned to a specific location and are expected to support projects nationwide.

Be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and provide clear leadership for all subcontractors involved in the execution of the project; have a positive attitude and be able to work cooperatively with clients, colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients; have a sense of urgency and the ability to push projects forward without sacrificing quality or safety. The successful applicant will be subject to client‑mandated drug and background checks and to EPC Services Company’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
