Job Summary:

The Construction Laborer supports construction and telecommunications infrastructure projects nationwide by performing essential field and site-support tasks. This role focuses on safe, efficient execution of physical work—site setup/cleanup, material handling, basic installation support, and tool operation—while working closely with supervisors and skilled tradespeople. Success in this position is measured by consistent productivity, strong safety performance, reliable attendance, and the ability to travel and work long shifts to help projects finish on time and to quality standards.

The Construction Laborer plays a vital role in the successful completion of construction projects across various locations across the country. This position involves performing a variety of physical tasks to support construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Laborers will work closely with skilled tradespeople and supervisors, contributing to the overall progress of the project while adhering to safety regulations and protocols.

The end result of this role is the successful execution of construction tasks that lead to the timely completion of buildings and infrastructure. Ultimately, the Construction Laborer helps to create safe and functional spaces for communities and businesses alike—helping ensure reliable telecommunications services through safe and efficient buried wire installations.

Key Metrics:

Performance in this role is evaluated through:

Safety performance: consistent adherence to safety procedures; incident-free work practices (PPE use, hazard reporting, site awareness).

Productivity & output : completes assigned tasks within expected time frames and supports crew targets for daily production.

Quality of work: accurate execution of instructions, minimal rework, proper handling of materials and equipment.

Reliability: attendance, punctuality, readiness for travel, and dependability during extended shifts.

Team effectiveness: positive collaboration with foreman/supervisors and crews; clear communication and responsiveness to direction.

Equipment & site care: tools/materials maintained properly; job site kept clean, organized, and compliant.

Core Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day construction, excavation, and installation operations on job sites nationwide.

Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety policies, wearing required PPE, and reporting hazards immediately.

Perform physical labor tasks including lifting, carrying, digging, loading/unloading, staging, and site cleanup.

Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Keep work areas organized and assist with material handling and equipment storage.

Travel 100% as required and work scheduled shifts (8-, 10-, or 12-hour; day/evening; Monday–Friday).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Preparation & Cleanup

Assist in job site setup, breakdown, and daily cleanup activities.

Remove debris, maintain walk paths, and help keep work zones safe and orderly.

Load/unload materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles and deliveries.

Stage materials where directed, ensuring accessibility and minimizing hazards.

3. Tool and Equipment Operation

Safely operate basic hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, tampers, compactors, etc. as assigned).

Inspect tools before use, report damaged equipment, and follow proper operating procedures.
