Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the person holding this position will be to provide quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate writing courses as part of the City College General Education Department. Reporting to the department chair and supervised by the dean of the college, the Writing faculty will also support the mission, purpose, and goals of City College at Montana State University Billings.
Responsibilities include delivering courses and teaching up to 30 credits for the academic year of General Education Department specific and department-related coursework, collaborating with peer department instructors to ensure courses and curriculum meet student and business needs, providing academic advising of program students as necessary, and assisting with retention and resource development activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
General

• Prepare and teach assigned courses in curriculum.
• Facilitate the learning process that creates a safe non-threatening climate which supports learning across the curriculum.
• Participate in assessment of student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet program outcomes.
• Teach up to 30 credit hours per year online and onsite in classroom and laboratory settings.

• Teach corequisite or "enhanced" courses
• Collaborate with related programs regarding their needs for writing curriculum
• Support student success including office hours and advising.
• Improve and refine curriculum and course content to meet the needs of changing student populations.
• Assess student learning at the course, program, and institutional level. Service
• Includes University service by participating in committees and activities as appropriate to position.
• Serve on committees, task force(s), and special projects contributing to the growth of the Program, City College, and Montana State University Billings. Scholarly Activities
