Teaching responsibilities include teaching up to 30 credits for the academic year of program specific and program-related coursework, collaborating with peer program instructors to ensure courses and curriculum meet student and business needs, academic advising of program students, retention, and resource development activities, as well as delivering courses and teaching.

- Instructional preparation and teaching of assigned courses in curriculum.
- Facilitate the learning process that creates a safe non-threatening climate which supports learning across the curriculum.
- Teach courses and material in the automotive industry that covers all 8 ASE automobile areas.
- Participate in assessment of student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet program outcomes.
- Teach up to 30 credits per year online or onsite in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Collaborate with related programs who share curriculum, courses, and teaching responsibilities such as Diesel Technician.
- Support student success including office hours and advising.
- Improve and refine curriculum and course content to meet the needs of changing student populations.
- Improve and refine curriculum and course content to meet the needs of our industrial partners.
- Assess student learning at the course, program, and institutional level.
- Engage in student recruitment activities.
- Support student success including office hours and advising.
- University service including participating in committees and activities.
- Community service includes participating in community events and volunteer activities.
- Develop and grow program to increase student enrolment, grow graduate placement, and help our industrial partners fill their needs for skilled workers.
- Build and maintain industry partnerships including chairing an advisory panel for the program.
- Serve on committees, task force(s), and special projects contributing to the growth of the Program, City College, and Montana State University Billings.
- Participate in professional organizations.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and licenses.
- Maintain proficiency in teaching and specialty expertise.

- Associate’s Degree or Associates of Applied Science in Automotive Technology
- 3 Years experience in related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, technologies, principles, and practices of current vehicle repairs.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in all facets of the student-teacher relationship.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
