SPECIAL EDUCATION BUS ASSISTANTS

Part-time; 9-monthpositions
Estimated 4.25 to 6 hours/day (a.m./p.m. split shift - estimated hours from 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.)
Salary: $18.34/hour

FULL BENEFITS YEAR-ROUND, Fully Paid Insurance, Vacation, Sick Leave; PERS RETIREMENT

• Assist in providing safe bus transportation for students with special needs
• Perform physical duties such as managing wheelchairs and special equipment that accompanies students;bending, lifting, pulling
• Must be able to work with highly behavioral or medically fragile students
• Perform necessary first aid , CPR or suctioning to care for any short-term emergency problems
• Handle conflicts or physical situations between students
• Work a split shift and have reliable transportation
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to get along with staff, co-workers, children and parents

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with students with special needs preferred

Pre-employment physicals are required for this position and paid for by the District.
