Position Overview
This position is for a faculty member teaching Related Health coursework and serving as the clinical coordinator for the Paramedic program, following the guidelines established by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services profession (CoAEMSP) and Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).Responsibilities include teaching coursework in Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology at City College both online and in person as well as participating in curriculum and course development and outcomes assessment.
The position has responsibilities for the day-to-day oversight of all clinical aspects of the paramedic program in addition to participation in curriculum and course development and outcomes assessment. The employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee's supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities
General
• Vigorously upholds a culture of academic integrity.
• A commitment to continuous quality improvement. Teaching
• Instructional preparation and teaching of assigned courses in related health curriculum, including Medical Terminology, Human Biology, and Human Anatomy and Physiology.
• Coordinate the overall clinical aspects of the EMS program activities with the Program Director.
• Responsible for teaching all paramedic clinical education courses within the academic year.
• Demonstrates proficiency in instruction, evaluation, and supervision of students.
• Coordinating clinical education with didactic education.
• Coordinate clinical activities - to include maintaining clinical competencies.
• Provide direct and indirect supervision of students while at clinical sites.
• Develop clinical schedules, syllabi, and orientation information.
• Oversees the collection, maintenance, and reporting of all documentation required by the clinical sites, including, but not limited to: immunization records, criminal background screenings, drug screenings, federal exclusion lists, BLS/ ACLS/PALS/PHTLS certification, HIPAA training and compliance, and Standard Precaution training and compliance.
• Compliance with CoAEMSP and CAAHEP standards for accreditation.
• Facilitate the learning process that creates a safe non-threatening climate which supports learning.
• Support student success, including office hours and student advising. Service
• Collaborate with Jacket Student Central and the Department Chair to schedule courses that align with student demand.
• Collaborate with Jacket Student Central on issues of student advising.
• Assist program faculty in advisement of students with complex or serious problems.
