Lead Toddler Teacher

Pay: $16 to $18/hr DOE

Toddlers are busy, brave, and learning something new every minute. As our Lead Toddler Teacher in Billings, you'll run the classroom: bringing the Frog Street Curriculum to life, guiding behavior with warmth, supporting your assistant teachers, and building real partnerships with families.

It's a leadership role for someone who loves the toddler years, keeps a room safe and organized, and wants to help little ones grow more confident every day.

• Plan and lead the Frog Street Curriculum, adapted for every child and aligned with the Montana Early Learning Standards, with lesson plans posted weekly.
• Guide behavior with positive, Sunshine Academy approved techniques and help toddlers learn to share, respect personal space, and handle big feelings.
• Partner with families on toilet training, daily routines, and developmental milestones.
• Supervise and support assistant teachers and floats, keeping ratios and safety protocols in place at all times.
• Keep families in the loop with weekly touch points and updates through our parent app.
• Keep records current, including name-to-face checks, accident reports, and cleaning logs, and keep the classroom clean, stocked, and licensing ready.
• Help plan family events like open houses and our Christmas Concert.

• Level 2 or higher on the Montana Practitioner Registry, or 2+ years of experience in a licensed early childhood program, a CDA, a BA or Associate degree in Early Childhood Development, or an accredited preschool certification.
• Current infant, child, and adult CPR/AED, infant choking response, and standard and pediatric first aid (CPR completed in a hands-on class).
• Current on the ECP Practitioner Registry, including its annual training hours.
• Current MMR and Tetanus immunizations.
• Able to lift 45 pounds and move easily up and down from the floor.
• Dependable, punctual, and organized, with a positive leadership style that models professionalism and integrity.
